This medicine is used for the following purposes:
- eye infection
- prevent infection caused by virus
- infections caused by virus
This is an IV medicine. It is given through a sterile tube directly into the vein by a healthcare provider.
This medicine is given gradually through the IV line.
Carefully follow the instructions for preparing this medicine before injection.
Always inspect the medicine before using.
The liquid should be clear and colorless.
Do not use the medicine if it contains any particles or if it has changed color.
Shake well to dissolve any visible particles. Do not use if particles do not disappear.
Keep this medicine at room temperature.
Protect medicine from light.
Never use any medicine that has expired.
Discard any remaining medicine after your dose is given.
Wash your hands before and after handling this medicine.
Space doses evenly to keep a steady amount of medicine in the body.
Ask your doctor, nurse or pharmacist to show you how to use this medicine correctly.
Drink plenty of water while on this medicine.
It is important that you keep taking each dose of this medicine on time even if you are feeling well.
If you miss a dose, contact your doctor for instructions.

Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you notice any of these more serious side effects:
- irregular heart beat
- rapid breathing
- reaction at the area of the injection (pain, redness, swelling)
- signs of kidney damage (such as bloody or bubbly urine, or changes in urine color or amount)
- mood changes
- muscle cramps
- feeling of numbness or tingling in your hands and feet
- redness, swelling or tenderness in the penis
- unusual or unexplained tiredness or weakness
- difficulty or discomfort urinating
- vaginal dryness or irritation
A few people may have an allergic reaction to this medicine. Symptoms can include difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help quickly.
